Delran Township Wedding
Delran is a township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the township population was 15,536.
The township's name is a portmanteau created from the names of the two rivers that have their confluence here: the Delaware River and Rancocas Creek. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 18.8 km (7.2 mi). 17.2 km (6.6 mi) of it is land and 1.6 km (0.6 mi) of it (8.41%) is water.
Delran Township borders Delanco Township, Riverside Township, Moorestown Township, Willingboro Township, and Cinnaminson Township. Delran also borders the Delaware River. As of the census2 of 2000, there were 15,536 people, 5,816 households, and 4,327 families residing in the township. The population density was 903.4/km (2,339.6/mi). There were 5,936 housing units at an average density of 345.2/km (893.9/mi). The racial makeup of the township was 82.87% White, 9.42% African American, 0.17% Native American, 2.80% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 1.63% from other races, and 2.94% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.25% of the population.
